A Buffalo paper.
With something to say.
Buffalo Sports Daily starts with a simple ambition: give Buffalo fans a newspaper worth finishing.
A score tells you what happened. A good story helps you understand how it happened—and what deserves your attention next. That’s the space this paper wants to occupy.
The Bills and Sabres will anchor our coverage. Some days, football will own the front page. On others, hockey will. The strongest verified story should decide the lead.
The reporting, then the read
We’ll bring together official developments, original beat reporting, useful statistics, and substantive local and national analysis. The aim is to make the coverage easier to follow while keeping its sources visible.
We’ll also have opinions. An editorial should make an argument, not hide behind a pile of links. But readers should always know when they’re reading our interpretation and when they’re reading an established fact.
A paper that remembers yesterday
Sports coverage moves quickly. A rookie becomes a storyline. An injury changes a matchup. A rumor disappears. A prediction meets the actual game.
We’ll keep a record of those developments across editions. The next story should build on the last one, explain what changed, and acknowledge when our earlier reasoning needs an update.
Our first promise
We won’t manufacture urgency on a quiet day. We won’t invent a fan quote. We won’t turn a roster visit into a signing or a projected lineup into a confirmed one.
This inaugural edition introduces the publication. Current game reports, roster updates, and media roundups will arrive as sourced editions are published.
Welcome to Buffalo Sports Daily. There’s plenty to talk about. Let’s make it worth reading.
